On September 2, 2026, Aman officially confirmed its highly anticipated entry into South Korea, unveiling plans for Aman Seoul in the city's exclusive Cheongdam-dong district. This development, a collaboration with Shinsegae Property, signals a significant strategic move for the ultra-luxury brand, planting its flag in one of Asia's most sophisticated capitals.
The ambitious project is slated to rise 38 floors above ground, with eight subterranean levels, encompassing approximately 70,000 square meters. The complex will integrate a hotel, 49 branded residences, and a private Aman Club, complemented by dedicated retail and cultural spaces. Shinsegae Property is overseeing planning and development, while Aman will direct architectural vision, design, and long-term operational management.
Aman Seoul is envisioned as an 'urban sanctuary,' blending Korean spatial aesthetics with Aman’s hallmark design philosophy, emphasizing privacy and a harmonious relationship between built environment, nature, and individual experience. The property will feature extensive spa and wellness facilities, signature Aman dining concepts, and a private club equipped with a swimming pool, fitness center, and exclusive lounge access for residents and global members.
Shinsegae Group Chairman Chung Yong-jin stated that Aman Seoul aims to transcend typical hotel development, becoming a new benchmark for high-end lifestyle in the city. Vlad Doronin, Chairman of Aman Group, noted Seoul's unique synthesis of culture, design, technology, and wellness as a compelling draw for the brand's expansion. According to The Korea Times, this convergence positions Seoul as a global lifestyle epicenter, making it an ideal locale for Aman's newest base.
Our take: Aman’s arrival in Seoul isn't just another hotel opening; it's a validation of the city's ascendancy in the global luxury landscape. The integrated branded residences and private club model are key, offering a comprehensive, exclusive ecosystem that appeals to an elite clientele seeking permanence and community alongside transient stays. This move could redefine Seoul’s ultra-luxury accommodations and accelerate competition in the branded residence sector.
