IHG Hotels & Resorts has achieved notable recognition in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards, with 42 properties from its Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio cited across various global destinations. Among these, five establishments secured the prestigious number one ranking, as reported on October 8, 2026.

Https://www.facebook.com/rustourismnews of Rus Tourism News reports that four of these top distinctions were awarded to Six Senses properties. The fifth went to InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, which was named the premier resort in Asia by the U.S. edition of the awards. They add that the accolades span all six of IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle brands: Six Senses, Regent, InterContinental, Kimpton, Vignette Collection, and Hotel Indigo.

Delving into the Six Senses achievements, Https://www.facebook.com/rustourismnews notes that Six Senses Fiji was ranked the number one 'Best Resort in Australasia & South Pacific' by readers of the U.K. edition. Six Senses Douro Valley in Portugal was recognized as the world’s leading 'Destination Spa' in the U.S. edition, a testament, as they write, to the brand's 'particularly strong position in wellness-led luxury travel'. Furthermore, Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman garnered the top 'resort in the Middle East' distinction from U.S. readers, while Six Senses Crans-Montana in Switzerland earned the 'number one Resort in Europe' title.

Beyond the Six Senses dominion, the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort in Vietnam claimed the top spot in Asia within the U.S. edition. The wider InterContinental portfolio also performed strongly, with properties such as InterContinental Washington DC – The Wharf securing second place among Washington D.C. hotels, InterContinental Seattle Bellevue also ranking second in its city, and InterContinental Boston placing third. The piece also details that Regent Santa Monica Beach was third among Southern California hotels, while Regent Beijing and Regent Phu Quoc secured fourth and fifth places respectively in their categories. Kimpton De Witt Hotel in Amsterdam was third among city hotels, with Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs and Kimpton EPIC Hotel also receiving accolades.

Our take: The consistent performance of Six Senses in the wellness and resort categories underscores the enduring appeal of its holistic approach to luxury hospitality. The brand's focus on immersive, high-touch experiences, often rooted in stunning natural environments and featuring signature wellness programs—from integrative spas to bespoke detox journeys—resonates deeply with the discerning global traveler. This continued recognition in key regions reinforces its status as a benchmark for sophisticated, mindful luxury, an area we have long championed in our dispatches. The strength of the InterContinental and Regent brands in city and regional categories also speaks to IHG's strategic expansion and refinement of its more traditional luxury offerings.
