IHG Hotels & Resorts confirmed on February 10, 2026, the signing of Six Senses Camp Korongo, a sprawling 480-acre resort and residential community near Kanab, Utah. This new destination aims to fuse desert seclusion, panoramic canyon views, and a deep connection to the region's natural and cultural heritage, with an anticipated opening in 2029.
The property is set to feature 41 luxury tented pavilions and 12 branded residences, all designed to integrate with the surrounding juniper forests, sculpted rock formations, and vast desert skies. The design ethos emphasizes natural textures and colors, allowing the landscape to remain the focal point.
Guests will find themselves within striking distance of national parks such as Zion, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, and Arches. These landmarks, described by THP News as "essential experiences," underline the region's appeal for both first-time visitors and seasoned travelers.
Six Senses Camp Korongo will also include a signature Six Senses Spa, offering tailored wellness experiences. This development, a collaboration with Canyon Global Partners, marks IHG’s inaugural project with the Larkspur, California-based firm. Luxury Frontiers, a South Africa-based studio known for its nature-driven and sustainable designs, will lead the architecture and design.
According to Jolyon Bulley, Chief Executive Officer, Americas at IHG Hotels & Resorts, Six Senses Camp Korongo will embody "the brand’s distinctive values and touchpoints in a unique location." He added that the project also reinforces the brand's growth strategy for the Americas. Homi Vazifdar, Founder of Canyon Global Partners, stated that Southern Utah's "spectacular topography, recreational opportunity and tranquility are a perfect match for Six Senses," as THP News reports.
Our take: Six Senses continues its strategic expansion into high-desire, nature-centric locations. This Utah property, situated amidst some of North America's most dramatic scenery, aligns perfectly with the brand's emphasis on immersive wellness and integration with the natural environment. The pairing of glamping-style accommodations with branded residences suggests a lucrative model for both short-term stays and long-term investment, catering to an increasingly discerning clientele seeking privacy and authentic experiences over traditional hotel luxury.
