Six Senses confirmed this week its first overwater resort in the Americas will open on Belize's Emerald Caye in 2028. According to travelweekly.com, this development introduces a new luxury segment for the brand in the region.
The Six Senses Belize will reportedly feature overwater accommodations alongside 16 residences, with prices starting at $3.75 million. Dining options, as detailed by travelweekly.com, include the beachfront All-Day Dining Village and a multi-level Longhouse, which will house a cafe, deli, wine shop, restaurant, and bar. A Sunset Bar, complete with sunken lounges and overwater nets, completes the property's F&B offerings.
The Six Senses Spa Belize is slated to be a "village-style sanctuary," incorporating sand paths, mangroves, and lagoons, with treatment rooms designed to offer ocean views.
Our take: Six Senses’ entry into the Americas’ overwater market is a strategic play. The $3.75 million residence price point indicates a clear targeting of the ultra-high-net-worth segment. Belize, with its pristine waters, offers an ideal backdrop for this type of secluded luxury. We'll be watching to see how the brand integrates its signature wellness ethos into an overwater context, particularly given the spa's proposed design.
