Melissa Sims, left, and Tony Rodriguez will serve as general manager and commercial director, respectively, of the Four Seasons Hotel & Residences in Downtown Jacksonville.
As construction of the Four Seasons Hotel & Residences nears completion, a management team is being assembled for the Downtown Northbank property.
Four Seasons announced Sept. 23 that Melissa Sims will be general manager of the 10-story property in the Shipyards area across Bay Street from EverBank Stadium. Tony Rodriguez has been appointed commercial director.
Sims has 20 years of experience with Four Seasons, most recently as general manager of the Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe in New Mexico, the release said.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to build something meaningful alongside the people who call this city home and create a destination that reflects both the spirit of Jacksonville and the care and service of Four Seasons,” she said in the release.

Four Seasons executive Antoine Chahwan called Sims an “exceptional leader whose breadth of experience, deep understanding of our culture and genuine care for people will set the tone for this extraordinary new property.”
“In partnership with Shanna Collective and the Khan family, she is building something truly exceptional: a destination that will be true to our brand, deeply connected to the community and reflective of the city’s bright future.”
Rodriguez has been with Four Seasons more than 30 years, the release said, and has leadership experience in Florida and beyond, including openings, repositioning projects and multiproperty strategy.
“We are not coming to Jacksonville to redefine what already makes the city special,” he said in the release. “Our role is to build on those strengths by bringing the care, craftsmanship and service Four Seasons is known for while creating experiences that feel authentically Jacksonville.”
The property comprises a 170-room hotel and 26 residences.
Shanna Collective developed the project with Iguana Investments. Shanna Collective is led by Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan’s daughter, Shanna. Iguana Investments is Shad Khan’s real estate development company.
The release said the property is on track to open in 2027.
