This week, Grand Continent Hotels Limited introduced Grand Continent – A Luxury Collection, Udaipur. The new property, situated in the Shobhagpura business and leisure district, features 103 rooms and suites, including Superior, Deluxe, Family, Junior, Executive, and Presidential categories. The hotel positions itself for leisure travelers, destination weddings, and corporate events.
Ramesh Shiva, Founder & Managing Director, Grand Continent Hotels Limited, stated that modern travelers seek bespoke experiences beyond traditional luxury. According to BW Hotelier, Shiva emphasized the importance of convenience, curated offerings, and spaces that connect guests to Udaipur's rich cultural and heritage identity.
The hotel has a significant focus on the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and wedding sectors. It offers over 8,000 square feet of event and conferencing space, including a Grand Ballroom for up to 700 guests, and additional venues like the Velvet Room and Board Room. Shiva, as quoted by BW Hotelier, noted that hotels are evolving into destinations themselves, requiring thoughtful design, personalized service, quality dining, and infrastructure supporting both leisure and business.
Dining options include Flavours, an all-day restaurant; Unwind, a lounge and bar; and Aasman, a rooftop restaurant. Amenities also feature a rooftop swimming pool, fitness center, concierge services, and parking for up to 100 vehicles.
Our take: Udaipur’s hospitality market continues to expand its high-end offerings. Grand Continent entering with a 103-key property suggests a confident bet on the city's enduring appeal for both domestic and international luxury travelers. Their clear focus on weddings and MICE is a smart play, leveraging a well-established revenue stream in the region.
