Six Senses Rome, announced on July 28, 2026 as a major launch for the brand, offers a compelling reason to brave Rome's notorious crowds. While the city's historical, cultural, and architectural significance draws millions, finding a peaceful haven can be challenging. This property aims to be that respite, setting a high standard for urban luxury.

The hotel occupies the meticulously restored 15th-century Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini. Upon entry, guests are greeted by preserved 600-year-old columns, pale travertine floors, and a verdant, light-filled lobby. The grand marble staircase adds a touch of regal drama, while the adjacent San Marcello al Corso Church offers an immediate historical connection, as The Manual points out.

Rooms at Six Senses Rome begin at 366 square feet for the entry-level Deluxe, extending to expansive two-bedroom suites over 1,200 square feet. The Manual notes that while a Deluxe Room can feel compact with a king bed, couch, and bistro table, it's thoughtfully designed with functional closets and discreet coffee stations. Bathrooms are generously sized, accommodating two guests comfortably.

For those seeking more space, the suites are remarkable, featuring separate living areas, private terraces overlooking courtyards, and lavish bathrooms with stand-alone tubs. A crucial detail, according to The Manual, is the inclusion of blackout shades, which are invaluable for combating jet lag after international travel.

The spa at Six Senses Rome champions the ancient Roman tradition of therapeutic bathing. Its centerpiece is a hydrotherapy circuit, guiding guests through a caldarium (hot), tepidarium (warm), and frigidarium (cold) sequence. This process is designed to promote relaxation, reduce inflammation, and accelerate recovery. The Manual reports noticeable improvements in fatigue after using the circuit. Additional spa amenities include treatment rooms, a hammam, sauna, steam room, and a dedicated relaxation area.

While Rome abounds with culinary options, Six Senses provides two notable dining experiences. BIVIUM, an all-day restaurant, café, and bar, features an open kitchen with a Josper grill and wood-fired pizza oven. Breakfast here is particularly noteworthy, offering an extensive spread of fresh fruit, antipasti, pastries, and an à la carte menu. Lunch and dinner menus include pizzas, pastas, grilled meats, and, as The Manual highlights, an excellent amberjack dish. The rooftop restaurant, NOTOS, offers another compelling dining choice.
