Announced May 9, 2026, Minor Hotels plants its first Anantara flag in the Caribbean, choosing North Caicos for a new resort slated for 2029. The "Garden Island," known for its natural beauty, will host the Anantara Turks and Caicos Resort & Residences, a 78-key property designed to merge luxury with the island's untouched landscape.

The Turks and Caicos Islands Government views this as a pivotal move for sustainable development. According to Travel And Tour World, the Premier’s office emphasizes the project's respect for the local ecosystem, aiming to diversify tourism beyond established hubs. The resort will occupy prime beachfront on Sandy Point, a region celebrated for its turquoise waters.

Infrastructure upgrades are underway, including the redevelopment of North Caicos Airport to accommodate private aviation. Travel And Tour World reports that hundreds of construction jobs are anticipated, followed by significant local employment once the resort opens. The government commits to training locals, ensuring they lead the burgeoning hospitality sector.

Miami-based designers are prioritizing indoor-outdoor living, integrating the ocean breeze into every space. Amenities include an Anantara Spa utilizing plants from the resort's gardens, an observatory for celestial viewing, and courts for tennis, padel, and pickleball. A private marina will provide direct access to the sea.

This Anantara entry positions North Caicos on the global luxury map. The brand's presence is expected to attract high-net-worth individuals seeking secluded, naturally preserved destinations. The resort will emphasize eco-friendly activities like kayaking through mangroves, aligning with a shift towards high-value tourism that protects local environments.

Minor Hotels’ Group CEO expressed enthusiasm for the project, noting the Caribbean has been a strategic target. The ownership team aims to create a timeless sanctuary, honoring the islands' heritage. According to Travel And Tour World, quotes from partners reflect a deep respect for the land and the community.
