On April 26, 2026, Aman Resorts announced Amansanu, an ultra-luxury, ranch-inspired property slated for the Texas Hill Country. This development introduces a new architectural concept for the brand and signals a strategic expansion into North America, targeting a growing appetite for secluded, nature-centric luxury.
Amansanu — a Sanskrit-derived name reflecting Aman’s ethos of peace — is positioned roughly 90 minutes from Austin. The brand reportedly selected the Texas Hill Country for its natural beauty, cultural depth, and exclusivity, aligning with what Travel And Tour World identifies as affluent travelers' preference for wide-open spaces over urban centers.
Olson Kundig, known for integrating architecture with natural surroundings, will lead the design. The firm's approach reportedly aligns with Aman’s brand identity, emphasizing simplicity, sustainability, and harmony with the environment through low-density development and contextual design.
Beyond the resort, Amansanu will feature a limited collection of branded private residences. These properties aim to offer ultra-high-net-worth individuals long-term investment opportunities, combining luxury living with access to resort services. Travel And Tour World reports these residences will include large land parcels, multiple-bedroom layouts, private pools, and expansive outdoor areas.
Our take: Aman's move into the Texas Hill Country is telling. While the region boasts impressive growth, particularly around Austin, it hasn't historically been synonymous with ultra-luxury in the same vein as Napa Valley or Aspen. This signals Aman's confidence in the area's burgeoning appeal to a clientele seeking privacy and bespoke experiences, distinct from traditional resort destinations. The ranch concept itself is a departure for Aman, indicating a willingness to adapt its minimalist, serene aesthetic to local vernacular architecture.
