Announced September 4, 2026, the Park Hyatt Mexico City Polanco is slated to open its doors in spring 2027. Positioned 30 stories above the exclusive Campos Elíseos neighborhood, the hotel promises a new benchmark for luxury and cultural integration in Mexico City, with Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos (SOMA) leading the design.
The 155-guestroom, 38-suite property, including a two-bedroom Presidential Suite, will offer uninterrupted views of Chapultepec Park. SOMA, a Mexican architectural firm established in 1937, has conceived the interiors as a layered narrative, intended to reflect the city's dynamic energy and cosmopolitan flair. Each space is curated to evoke an art gallery experience, showcasing a collection of contemporary and traditional Mexican artwork.
The art program is a significant differentiator. According to Sleeper Magazine, the hotel features pieces curated by Arte Abierto, a non-profit founded by SOMA to promote artistic dialogue. This collection includes works by internationally recognized Mexican artists such as Damián Ortega and Michelle Aubert, chosen to complement the hotel’s design narrative.
Beyond its artistic inclinations, the Park Hyatt Mexico City Polanco will feature four indoor and outdoor dining venues, encompassing a specialty restaurant, an all-day option, a modern Mexican concept, and innovative cocktail bars. Wellness facilities include a rooftop pool and the full-service Tezca Spa. The hotel also boasts over 8,500 square feet of meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom and an open-air terrace.
Our take: Mexico City is experiencing a luxury hospitality renaissance, and the Park Hyatt's focus on art and design, coupled with its prime Polanco location and park views, signals a strong contender for discerning travelers. The integration of Arte Abierto elevates the property beyond mere decoration, positioning it as a cultural destination in its own right. This art-centric approach could set a new standard for luxury hotel cultural programming in the region, mirroring an increasing trend in global hospitality where art is more than an amenity; it's part of the identity.
