This week, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts opened The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort, Cancún, introducing a new level of luxury to the Mexican Caribbean. Situated near the historic El Meco archaeological site, the resort integrates local culture into its design and guest experience.

The property features 163 rooms and suites. Many offer expansive balconies with direct Caribbean Sea views. Signature suites provide spacious, residential-style accommodations.

Federico Greppi, President of Marriott International, Caribbean and Latin America, stated that "St. Regis has long defined where luxury chooses to be, and Costa Mujeres marks an important next chapter in the brand's expansion across Mexico." According to TravelPulse, Greppi emphasized the brand's commitment to regional growth and Costa Mujeres' increasing appeal as a luxury market.

Guests can expect the brand's hallmark butler service, along with nine distinct food and beverage concepts. The resort also offers traditional afternoon tea, evening champagne rituals, sunrise ceremonies, and local crafting workshops. Additional amenities include the St. Regis Spa, an infinity pool, a fitness center, and a dedicated Kids Club.

Our take: The St. Regis entry into Costa Mujeres signifies a continued push into high-end tourism for the region, moving beyond Cancun's traditional resort model. This development positions Costa Mujeres as a serious contender for discerning travelers seeking both luxury and cultural immersion, leveraging the St. Regis brand's established reputation for service and exclusivity.
