Aman at Sea, the maritime extension of the Aman hotel group, revealed on January 21st the inaugural itineraries for its new yacht, the Amangati, with voyages scheduled to commence in the spring of 2027. These initial journeys will navigate the Mediterranean, focusing on destinations rich in cultural and architectural heritage.

According to Luxury Tribune, the yacht's itineraries are designed to explore routes from the Roman legacy of the Dalmatian coast to the Moorish influences of Mediterranean Spain, encompassing the French Riviera. The outlet notes that stops will include rarely accessible ports such as Beaulieu-sur-Mer, with individual voyages spanning five to eight nights. Luxury Tribune further reports that guests will have the opportunity to attend prominent events such as the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix, and a 'rare passage through Venice's Grand Canal' is also planned. Bespoke visiting options will be facilitated by the yacht's two heliports and six tenders, as the publication describes.

The Amangati, currently under construction and measuring 180 meters with nine decks, is designed for extreme exclusivity, accommodating a maximum of 94 passengers in 47 suites. Luxury Tribune points out that suite sizes extend up to 354 square meters, underscoring a strategic choice to offer 'exclusivity and a series of high value-added experiences'. The publication contrasts this with competitors—mentioning Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, with its 149 to 226 suites, and Four Seasons Yachts, which accommodates nearly 190 passengers across 95 suites—to highlight Amangati's deliberate emphasis on limited capacity.

Luxury Tribune informs that the vessel is being constructed by the Italian shipyard T. Mariotti in Genoa, known for its expertise in high-end shipbuilding. The yacht's design is attributed to Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, and it will feature a substantial 1,190-square-meter spa, purportedly the largest in its category. While no pricing has been released, the outlet references 'specialist media outlets' suggesting that comparable five to seven-night voyages on Four Seasons Yachts might range from $20,000 to $60,000.

Our take: Aman's entry into the luxury yachting segment with the Amangati is a natural progression for a brand synonymous with secluded luxury and curated experiences. We've been watching other ultra-luxury hospitality groups explore ventures beyond terrestrial resorts, and this move into a purpose-built vessel allows for an entirely new platform for the brand's signature service. The emphasis on a highly private, spacious environment, coupled with the promise of bespoke cultural immersion and an expansive wellness offering, aligns perfectly with the evolving demands of the hyper-affluent traveler. It marks a significant lever for brand expansion, broadening Aman’s experiential portfolio from its established resorts into a 'hybrid economic model between hospitality, premium cruising, and private superyachting,' as Luxury Tribune aptly observes. This pivot into maritime offers a new conduit for their wellness and culinary pillars, extending the sanctuary experience to sea.
