Announced July 8, 2026, Aman Group has appointed Victor Clavell as its new Chief Operating Officer. Clavell brings over three decades of senior operational, brand, and development expertise within global luxury hospitality.

His career spans leadership positions at esteemed brands including The Ritz-Carlton, Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, EDITION, W Hotels, Rosewood, and Urban Resort Concepts. Most recently, Clavell served as CEO of Urban Resort Concepts in Hong Kong, where he spearheaded the repositioning and global expansion of The PuLi Group, encompassing hospitality, residences, and retail.

Before his tenure at Urban Resort Concepts, Clavell held the role of Senior Vice President & Managing Director, EMEAC at Rosewood Hotel Group. In this capacity, he oversaw a rapidly expanding region and reportedly led a profitable turnaround of its European and Middle Eastern portfolio, as reported by Sleeper Magazine.

In his new role as COO, Clavell will oversee all global operations for Aman Group. His mandate includes upholding the highest standards for guest experience, ensuring consistency across all properties and business units, and optimizing financial performance. This oversight extends to Aman's sister brand, Janu, and its growing lifestyle verticals.

He will collaborate closely with Chairman Vlad Doronin to support the company’s continued expansion in hotels, resorts, and branded residences.

“Aman has set the benchmark for luxury hospitality for more than three decades, and I am delighted to join the company as it continues to evolve,” Clavell shared, according to Sleeper Magazine. He noted that his focus would be on operational excellence and strategic development as Aman Group expands, aiming to build on the brand’s legacy.

Chairman and CEO Vlad Doronin commented, “Victor’s global expertise, operational discipline and deep understanding of luxury hospitality make him an exceptional addition to Aman Group’s leadership team,” as quoted by Sleeper Magazine. Doronin highlighted Clavell's ability to elevate brand performance and deliver transformative results as invaluable for Aman's global evolution.

Our take: Aman's strategic play here is clear: fortify operations ahead of an aggressive growth phase. Clavell's pedigree suggests a meticulous approach to scaling luxury, crucial as Aman and Janu push into new markets and product categories. His background with residences and diverse geographical portfolios is precisely what Aman needs to maintain its exacting standards while expanding its global footprint. This isn't just a leadership hire; it's an operational statement.
